Background
Central Jail (Nepali: à¤à¥à¤¨à¥à¤¦à¥à¤°à¤¿à¤¯ à¤à¤¾à¤°à¤¾à¤à¤¾à¤°, Kendriya Karagar) is the largest prison facility of Nepal. It was established in 1971 BS (1914-1915). It is located near Newroad of central Kathmandu. The jail is also called Bhadragol jail (à¤à¤¦à¥à¤°à¤à¥à¤² à¤à¤¾à¤°à¤¾à¤à¤¾à¤°). To the east of the jail lies office of the drinking water corporation, Bhotebahal in the west, office of Kathmandu metropolitan in the north.
